Magnitude: Right now the USGS has put this quake at an 8.0 - Expect this to change as more data comes to hand.

Depth: Current data suggests a shallow quake at 10km - This data is subject to change.
Intensity of Shaking: USGS pager has put this quake at Mercalli Intensity level VII (7 - Very Strong). The 'Did you feel it' part of the website has people reporting it at a 6 which is strong shaking.

Expected Damages: The USGS has put up the initial pager information which is subject to change. Damage probabilities are as follows; 65% for damages to be under $1m, 30% for damages to be between $1-10m, 4% for damages to be between $10-100m. The final percent is scattered over the other categories, all values in USD.

Expected Deaths: The fatality probabilities are as follows; 50% for no deaths, 32% for 1-10 fatalities, 15% for 10-100 fatalities and 3% for 100-1000 fatalities. The odds are good but these are subject to change.

Tsunami: Local Tsunami warning[1] issued for Ecuador, Chile and Peru. Tsunami watch in place for Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica.

Aftershock pattern: This quake was preceded by hundreds of smaller quakes which is unusual due to no trigger event. The expected pattern is that of many smaller quakes and some larger (6.0's/7.0s) to follow over the next few months.

This side of the ring of fire has really upticked last couple of months.

Quite a temblor off Oregon coast and the recent one near center of Los Angeles.

Plus the animals are fleeing the Yellowstone Caldera area.

Most telling story though is the cranking up of long term foods by Con Agra for underground bunkers.
