I received this:

Aloha. Good afternoon.
Thank you for contacting us. I'm Ray Ujimori and i'm responding to your email.

A Corolla LE automatic with ABS Brakes, Side airbags, will also have (AW) alloy wheels,(VV) am/fm 6 disc CD changer and (CF) carpeted floor mats.

Your price is $15,753 + tax and DMV fes. (includes the $ 500 rebate).

Please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Again, thank you and Aloha.

Ray Ujimori (internet manager).

Should I take this or not? I'll e-mail the guy back to make sure that this is an '05 and that it includes Cruise Control, which I assume that it does since it is part of the Audio Value Package, which contains the 6-DISC CD Changer upgrade and the Cruise Control. Rarely do they just add the CD-Changer option.

carsdirect.com is giving $15,129 with these options incl. destination. But if you just want to give $620 to the dealer as a Christmas present, do it, it's a classy move.

seems reasonable, edmunds TMV gives 15,783. FYI, invoice is 15,283 so i'm sure you could get it cheaper. the question is, however, are 3 hours of negotiating worth $500 to you?

Yeah, it's only $160 hr. You could just sell yourself on the street for 3 hrs instead :D

It's very simple. Go to carsdirect.com. Option out the same car. Print out the page, and take it to the dealer. Either he matches, or you buy it from carsdirect. It's not going to take 3 hrs.
You can even do it by fax or by phone.

regardless of what you do, it'll take three hours. i negotiated my price over the phone and got a good price (i guess they figured that they'd just throw me something to get me in the door at least). well i get there and they try negotiating further, throwing in dealer add-ons, etc etc. to make a long story short, i got my car for the price i wanted but still wasted 4 hours of my life that i didn't need to.

Thanks everyone for their advice. I got this price just by requesting a quote, so I haven?t even started negotiating yet. I didn?t realize that the Carsdirect price is that low, since just a month ago it was over $17,000. I better go see what you folks are talking about.

Well $620 in 3 hrs, is $207/hr. What else can you do in that time that will make you $207/hr?
Or you could just order it from carsdirect.
