Amusing school story.

So my Mom's friend is a teacher at a middle school. She was telling Mom about the problem that they have been having with the girls going into the bathrooms and kissing the mirrors while they have lipstick on. I guess this has been going on for a while. Why do they do it? I have no idea.

Either way, the staff started putting up signs stating, "Do Not Touch The Mirrors" etc. Didn't work. They caugh one girl doing it and gave her a warning. The girls still kept on doing it. Finally they came on a solution.

They called in one group of about twenty-five girls and took them into the bathroom. The were several lipstick smears on the mirror. They explained to the girls that it was very difficult to get the lipstick off of the mirror and they wanted them to know what the janitor had to go through to get it off. The janitor walked in with a nasty toothbrush, went and dipped it into the toilet and began cleaning the lipstick off of the mirror. He told them that he was getting really tired of having to do this over and over again, each day.

Word spread like *wildfire* and they haven't had a problem since.

That's awesome. but I can just see someone going home to their parents and telling them, and then the parents sue for putting the childs health in danger.

I call SHENS! this is an old email forward. i don't believe your mom's friend really told your mom this. Either that, or she was just relaying an email story she received and tried to make it out as being true.

Snopes article dating this to the 80's.

EDIT: Added link and rephrased my original thought so it actually made sense.

I was there when Mom's friend told the story. Whether or not it is true is another question, although she isn't the sensational type. Actually, it makes me wonder if that solution wasn't inspired by the "story" that was circulating.
