Amsterdam... should I go

if its your first time take a bit to be relaxed. take too much and youll feel like your in a dream world and be paranoid out of your mind, which is not good in an unfamiliar country
 
art? maybe red light district? there are actual things to do there -- i believe there is a very famous flower district too. I would suggest googling it because there are actual things to do in Amsterdam besides smoke or eat cannabis.
 
I would suggest first getting high, then go for the hookers. Then you're only missing one thing to complete the trifecta..

Go to the Albert Cuyp Market, awesome market where you can get some outstanding cheese. Visit the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. Also, enjoy Kalverstraat and the insider is, go to a Snackbar called "Febo" and get a Kalvskroket, they are the best thing in the world.

Kalfskroket? It's basically just a calf's ragout wrapped in breadcrumbs, then fried. They're awesome.

Do you drink coffee or drink alcohol?

If so you've lost the last leg the anti-marijuana people have being in Amsterdam, it's legality.
Because both alcohol and coffee(caffeine) are drugs that are worse for you than grass.
