AMR slot

That AMR card looks like it plugs in the socket on the same side as PCI devices but my CNR slot is shared with my 6th PCI slot so the CNR device would plug in like ISA wouldn't it? Still confused.
 
That's true....some motherboard manufacturers orient the slot backwards to force you to buy their own proprietary cards.

MrBond: I'm sure Modus would disagree with that assertion.
 
AMR == Audio Modem Riser
CNR == Communications Network Riser.

Personally, I'd stay away from that stuff, PCI tends to be better, easier & nice overall, in my experience. AMR/CNR is generally only something OEM's really use, AFAI have seen ...
