amr modems

i could get one for free...not that i would need it...but does anyone know if its slower than a regular 56k isa modem? or if it takes up any cpu utilization?

As I understand, the performance is the same, i was the production cost that is lower on AMR modems, making them more popular with OEm computer manufacterers.

Ands ISA? Man, I can't even remember when was the last time I used an ISA card instead of PCI.

Go for it. They have the same performance. Also if you're considering going to winXP, I've heard that it has a lot of issues with ISA cards. This might be your chance to get away from ISA and the price is right.
