Amplifier for headphones?

Are they available? I have some headphones that are pretty underpowered when connected to my SB Live - I heard of some mini-amps that will boost the power by a little, any idea how much these are and how well they work?

They can get pretty expensive. I suggest HeadRoom because I've had good experiences buying from them.

There are tons of amplifiers for headphones, I'd check with the guys over on Headwize. They're gurus on headphone technology, and a few have done DIY (Do-It-Yourself) headphone amplifier projects. They should be able to recommend something to you.

lirion, I'm not looking for a louder sound, but more clarity - the bass breaks up because the signal is just too damn weak to sound good - ya know?

Yea I noticed they were having probs, I've been reading through some of their docs and stuff though, the DIY amp seems like fun but I don't know much about building my own electronic setups

I was just neffing through If you end up getting some new phones I have a pair of Sony studio phones that are pretty sweet. I've never needed an amp with them but I'm not that picky about it and they work fine for me. I hope you get what you want.

I knew jack about soldering and things, but I built my own pair of speakers back in February! I had a lot of fun doing it. Not only will you have fun making your amp if you decide to, you'll respect its quality a lot more once you get done.
