How much is the Samsung 7nm EUV process expected to provide in terms of gains?
How will the RTX components be scaled/developed?
Any major architectural enhancements expected?
Will VRAM be bumped to 16/12/12 for the top three?
Will there be further fragmentation in the lineup? (Keeping turing at cheaper prices, while offering 'beefed up RTX' options at the top?)
Will the top card be capable of >4K60, at least 90?
Would Nvidia ever consider an HBM implementation in the gaming lineup?
Will Nvidia introduce new proprietary technologies again?

Sorry if imprudent/uncalled for, just interested in the forum member's thoughts.

So, rumors (as reported by Guru3D) suggest the 3070 isn't being fulfilled by some big e-tailers. It makes perfect sense to me that Nvidia put the brakes on and basically canceled the entire release of the cards due to a complete lack of Vram on the 3070 and 3080. That's what the case actually appears to be. They just canceled the 8 and 10GB cards. 8GB should be for the new 3060 cards for 1080p gaming. I heard the 3060 is getting 6GB again. What a catastrophic failure that would be. 6GB is definitely not enough for near-future 1080p gaming. It's not even worth debating that one. So, yep. They are all probably just canceled.

That's a Poe's Law worthy post... People on the internet can't hear the difference between sarcasm, and crazy, so you have to identify the former so we don't assume the latter.

Rogame chimed in with suggestion about possibility of RTX 3060 being not on 106 die, but on 104.

That seems rather likely since the 3080 is on the 102 die this generation. From what we know about the 3070 it's not quite a full die, but nearly is, which leaves room for something that uses anything that's more cut down. A 6 GB 3060 is plausible because it allows them to use any 104 dies with a defect in one of the memory controllers or any other part of the hardware that would preclude a chip from making the 3070 cut.

A 6 GB card is really pushing it though, particularly with the new console generation having so much more memory available. I think we'll see a 12 GB version in time. Maybe this will end similar to the 1060 series where there were both 3 GB and 6 GB variants.

Whoops. Nvidia cancelled the launch of 16 GB RTX 3070, and 20 GB RTX 3080.

LOL, I knew it. Nvidia's bringing out the big 6GB buffer to impress the masses. I'm sure people can't wait to fire up their favorite game with their brand new RTX 3060 at 1080p only to get a Vram warning in the display menu, lol. This card is DOA and not even worth considering. None of them are. These cards don't have any Vram! WTH?

I expect AMD will have a competitive answer to the 3060/3070 with more DRAM. Hopefully their day one drivers will be better than their 5000 series. Some good competition will push both companies to the benefit of gamers. We’ll find out soon enough.

Those buyers will need to turn down their setting. Sometimes pricing tiers suck.

Well that sucks, I guess I'm not getting a new card to replace my 1080ti anytime soon. I refuse to get a 10gb card. Might have to consider AMD even with a gsync monitor if I want a new card at all.

Yea that has been my intention since this whole release. As long as my current card doesn't call quits, I'm fine waiting. But if it does actually break I will be very sad and upset as I am actually playing a few games now on my pc.

They really want sell us 8GB 500+ USD card in 2021?This is crazy.Even amd mid/low end will have more vram.
Don't make wrong conclusions based on this information ;).

As I have said, lets wait what will happen in upcoming two months.

But if we take this info into perspective, the news that RTX 3060 is on 104 die, instead of 106, tells a lot.

They already can't meet a fraction of demand, so it's probably just a delay until things stabilize.
As VCZ said, its not a delay.

Its complete cancellation of those GPUs.

Technically GeForce RTX 3080 20GB and RTX 3070 16GB could launch at a later time, but the information that we have clearly stated that those SKUs have been canceled, not postponed.

Sounds like Ampere is canceled entirely. Oh well, there's always next year.

I'm not buying 10GB card at this point. That's what you'd except for RTX 3070 class card. If AMD can offer card with 16GB and similar performance to RTX 3080, I see troubles ahead for NVIDIA.

Yeah same here. I don't care about a 10GB 3080 or let alone a 8GB 3070 with 2080Ti-Performance and above. That's just whew.

So no NV GPU for me anytime soon if it's true. Now it's AMD's turn and I think there are quite a lot of ppl out there waiting for 3080-perf (or even 3070 at it's price point) but with more VRAM.

So based on VCZ info we will get RTX 3060 Ti and 3070 8 GB using 104 die.

Today Rogame also posted that RTX 3060 6 GB will be on 104 die. Both info's are completely related to each other.

To me this means only one thing. Nvidia will compete with AMD on price.

I can easily see that RTX 3070 will have exactly the same specs, as RTX 3070 16 GB supposed to have, but with 8 GB of VRAM instead of 16 GB.

In general cancellation of 16 GB RTX 3070 SKU would mean that this is only version of it that would be cancelled, but this was the only SKU that was announced by Nvidia to be released soon.

So the price point is also cancelled.

So if we will get this way simply - more affordable products, there might still be a point for Nvidia to release those products. Delivering good value.

Ah, good ol' price war between companies.

IMO, if true, this probably points to a GDDR6x shortage. Don't see any other reason to lose such an easy selling point.
