I have a Toshiba laptop running WinXP and it has 256 MB now and I wondered what performance differences there would be by adding another 256 MB. If there are some good articles available, I haven't found them yet so any help would be appreciated.
 
Mostly business type things. Multiple Explorer windows, MSWord, calculator program, ACT contact management program. I also use the laptop for the kids when traveling and let them watch DVD's on it.
 
I have a mcahine at home (Windows XP) that I use for Access, IE, Word, Outlook, and I noticed better operation when I added 256MB to it. Also, ram is pretty low in price right now. You can search the hot deals forum and see things like 256mb of pc2100 for 39.99 or less.
