Amnesia vs Outlast

Amnesia is way better and creepier. Outlast isn't scary at all except for one shock part at the beginning. It's also only 4-5 hours long.

I vote for Outlast. More modern setting based on the Unreal engine. Amnesia today will probably look too generic or old school. Also in Amnesia your character gets scared when you don't, so that can be distracting.

Get both. Outlast is only $10, Amnesia (either one) is $4.99

Personally I liked the 1st Amnesia way more. At first I could only play it maybe for 15 or 30mins at a time before it became too much lol.

Goes without saying play any of them in the dark w/headphones...

well, I guess I just said it 😉

Amnesia Dark Descent, Headphones, no lights on = you will have to quit and take a break multiple times. Warning - do not play if you have a heart condition 😉

Outlast = scary game as well..but a little too expected/scripted at times which I found annoying.

Having played both, Amnesia hands down. But only if you're playing the dark descent. A Machine for Pigs or whatever it's called isn't as good, and Outlast is better IMHO.

Amnesia The Dark Descent is the scariest game I have ever played. Nothing comes even close.

For me, Amnesia wasn't that scary. Probably because I played them guys' games from since their tech demos almost a decade ago, so I became accustomed to that kind of gameplay.

I found the "scariest games" of all time to be from games that weren't even based on horror in the first place.

Like the haunted house level from Vampire Masquerade. That level is literally not for the faint of heart.

The other was the Asylum level in Thief.

Both levels put "pure" horror games to shame.
