Ammusing framerate in Call Of Duty

I have a ASUS Geforce 3 V8200 Deluxe with detonator 43.45a driver by asus. When I play Call Of Duty I get 130fps when in closed environment as soon as i enter open places the framerate drops to 30fps and sometimes even 18fps, is it common for this range of cards. The res is 800x600 at 2x FSAA and application controlled anisotropy with 16bit textures. I bought this card a year back, i have never felt that i have got the full performance out of this card. I used to get 27fps avg. res 800x600 no FSAA in Splinter Cell.

Please help!!!

Try turning off FSAA as the GF3 and GF4 series arnt really that good at it. Granted your at a low res, but try anyhow.

My brother in law has a GF4 MX440 and can run the game satisfactorily at 1024x768 without AA and AF. He had to turn some settings down of course but still playable. Your GF3 should outperform a GF4 MX easily. Try turning off AA and AF and up your res to 1024x768 to reduce the number of visible jaggies. See what happens.

In outdoor environments Call of Duty hard caps to 30fps (why this is i dont know) but it happens across the entire NVIDIA line.

Turn off vsync and AA. Also both games are quite CPU limited and your CPU is getting quite old now.

in outdoor environments Call of Duty hard caps to 30fps
It most certainly does not.
