Now there's a name that hasn't been in the news for awhile.

Last I remember he lost his bid for governor of Idaho.

Now he has accused a Boise hospital, its CEO, a doctor and a nurse practitioner of malpractice of a grandchild of a friend. They sued him (and the grandfather of the child and some other entities) for an ongoing campaign of intimidation, harassment and disinformation. The jury entered a default judgement since he didn't appear in court of $26 million in compensatory and punitive damages against him and a couple of his enterprises. The grandfather and his entities were also hit with $26 million in damages.

Bundy, of course, pleads poor mouth. Says he can't pay as the legal battle had forced him to “liquidate all my assets except a few.”

And, also of course, he shows no change in his declarations posting on Twitter after the verdict “People in a jury deciding how much St. Luke’s is going to take from those who exposed the truth about them is a mockery to justice."

This dude is a complete piece of shit she should've been in jail a long time ago for multiple reasons. I don't really like the idea of a hospital being able to sue an individual for millions for slander, though. However, it sounds like he did a lot more than bash their standard of care, which probably makes this a reasonable exception.

I don't really like the idea of a hospital being able to sue an individual for millions for slander, though. However, it sounds like he did a lot more than bash their standard of care, which probably makes this a reasonable exception.

Not to mention he repeatedly refused to show up in court to defend himself. In the US if you deliberately choose not to respond to a lawsuit eventually the judge can rule you automatically lose, which seems fair.

The lawsuit is in response to what the health system calls a "smear campaign" consisting of harassment, false statements, and trespassing. St. Luke's claims the defendants incited a protest at a hospital in Boise, resulting in a lockdown that interfered with patient care and diverted ambulances.
