Amityville Horror

considering it comes out in 2 days, probably not

Sneak previews and employee viewings my man. 😛 I had some friends who were supposed to hit a sneak preview last night but got there too late and the seats were already filled.

But, I did expect the first reply to be something like you provided! Thanks!

I've seen the original...and it is pretty scary, this one looks to capitalize on all the flashy/stilty camera work from movies like the Ring and the Grudge, and remake a classic

It's based on a true story, like Texas Chainsaw Massacre is based on a true story... It should say loosely based

it says its based on a true story.

what story is that?

The original is great. I'm sure the true story is that someone lived in a house that was spooky so this is 'based' on a spooky house. 😛

the true story is that someone did actually tell them a fairy tale.

Yep. It was something that was huge tens of years ago, but was discovered that it was fake.

I thought the original was awful. I saw it a couple years ago, because it was supposed to be such a classic, and it almost bored me to tears. Not Blair Witch dull, but close. It was too much a product of its time, looks way, WAY too hokey for me to be drawn into it.

The book, though, is extremely cool. A much better telling than the movie. Hard to say how this version will turn out.

Yah I'm the opposite when it comes to horror movies. I'd much rather watch an old school 'hokey' horror than most of the new stuff. I do still enjoy some of the new stuff though.

Another "copy & paste" movie by lameass hollywood producers who lack originality. Oh boy, how about a remake of JAWS or ET. How about we butcher those classics as well
