Amish Man Lost Thousands in Sex Scam

2 questions though:

1) if he and the community he lived in were amish, how would they see him on the internet??? for those that don't know - "The Amish are averse to any technology which they feel weakens the family structure. The conveniences that the rest of us take for granted such as electricity, television, automobiles, telephones and tractors are considered to be a temptation that could cause vanity, create inequality, or lead the Amish away from their close-knit community and, as such, are not encouraged or accepted in most orders."

2nd - if they are not all Amish, but very religious god-fearing people, why the hell would they be looking in places where these photos might show up? unless it shows up on the news, which as we see here, already has. so either way, the got got screwed in that aspect.

Valid points.

I'll take a wild guess and say that it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for a non-Amish person to see the pictures, put two and two together and spread the word. Word gets back to the Amish community; Amish guy = owned.

Edit: I know very little about Amish customs, but IIRC they also have a tradition of letting teenagers go out into the "world" and experience it for a period of time before they commit to the Amish lifestyle. Wouldn't be impossible for someone from this guy's community to stumble on the pics in that case, I suppose.
 
does he get busted for soliciting sex from a prostitue then?
and why is "theft from an elderly person" different than any other theft?

1) The Amish man was not seen on the internet. He hired a prostitute. The prostitute and her boyfriend threatened to post pictures of him with the prostitute on the Internet. It makes no mention of the Amish man using the Internet.

it says that the guy was afraid that his church community would see it. i'm no expert on amish church communities but from what i have seen, it is only amish that go to these amish churches. i'm asking, based on general amish lifestyle of not using technology, how other amish people would see his pictures on the internet.

He's 75 years old... and Amish. He has a very vague notion of what the internet is. He probably thought the world would see his photos, and eventually get back to his community.

My question is... 75 years old??? can he even get it up at that age?
