I saw this earlier. It's pretty sweet. I wish I have that amount of play money to check this out.

I have to admit, it looks pretty cool but I still prefer the real thing. My newest baby:

I just need to find some time to work on it and do some motherboard mods and soldering. 😀

I didn't even know Commodore was still a company. Didn't they claim bankruptcy in the mid-90's and basically liquidate the whole company?

It isn't the same Commodore, much like Atari isn't the same Atari as the company that made video games and computers in the 80s.

Commodore went under in 1994. Escom bought the UK business and continued producing Amigas for another year (IIRC) before they went under. Since then, Amiga has bounced around and this new "Commodore" recently purchased the rights to the names, I believe.

A tad early for an April Fool's joke.

A brand name no one under 35 cares about, seriously overpriced hardware trying to focus on Linux gaming...yeah, I predict they'll sell about 50 of these things.

I don't really know why they even call these Amigas, it's just an x86 PC with an Amiga label slapped on it.

It's just like Dell making x86 PC and call it Optiplex. Only in this case the word 'Optiplex' used to mean something else.

You'll find that most of the old diehard Amiga and Commodore fans are cursing the new "Commodore" for what they consider abominations. I'm a little more forgiving towards them but I still prefer the real Amiga and Commodore hardware from the 80s and 90s.
