So I was sitting here and saw someone with the username Guybrush Threepwood and this BIG wave of nostalgia just hit me.
Ahhhh, the days filled with all those great games, Monkey Island being one of the best, humour wise :)
Sometimes I think "They dont make games like that anymore" is that true or have we just get used to the high standard games of today ?
Somehow I feel that the games also tend to be more and more "eye-candy" than anything else.
So what will the future of games be, what do you think ?
Did you ever owned an Amiga or other for that time "top notch" computer, and what kinda nostalgic memory can you share ?
Myself was a proud owner of a Amiga 500 with extra drive and extra memory (1 meg in total YAY!) and ALOT of discs with games and apps :)

Yup, had one of those aswell, ahhhh the joy of playing ice climber when plastered this days hehe.
Best thing you can do if a party gets boring, bring out your old NES and load up ice climber (and/or any other good game like duck hunter or whatnot), ppl will love you :D

I get the same feeling now and again, all the good games have already been made and they're just releasing re-makes with a little fancier graphics. For the Amiga the list of awesome games is just never ending: Supercars2, Elvira, Dune2, Oil Imperium, Ports of Call, Monkey Island, Lotus Turbo Challenge, Alien Breed, man I can't remember half of them. My favorite game for the Amiga would have to be Loom by LucasArts, great story, graphics and interface. Remember trying to save money to get one of those huge 20 MB hard drives :)

Nowadays all I really bother with is counter-strike, I get a lot of games but I usually just install them and uninstall them, civ is still all good though. Waiting and hoping for the Star Wars online game to be great.

I had the original Amiga 1000 with a total of 1 meg of memory. Yeah, I miss Ports of Call and Defenders of the Crown.......my dad still has an Amiga 2000HD and I think he still has the games and apps...too bad he lives almost 3000 miles away. I wanna play with an Amiga now! :p

I've been playing the entire Megaman series on my NES and SNES emulators lately. Those games are soooo fun.

I had an Amiga 500 with a 68030 accelerator, and a Hard Drive. I also had a color-thermal printer it way back in the late 80's! Amiga's ruled!

Baffler, you can get an Amiga emulator here. I haven't tried this release of it, but the other versions I have tried worked fine.
You will also need the kickstart file from an Amiga to make it work.
You can get this here

I remember when I had my A1200, ah the good old days of paying £120 for 8 megs of RAM.

Linky

This will get you started, there are quite a few sites, you'll just have to search for them.

Baiscally, put each game in a seperate directory, click the floppies tab and put each .adf file in each of the 'floppy drives', then click OK and the game should load.
