ami bios updating, file size error?

Have a Gateway SX2370 system that the bios settings reset themselves, hence I'm looking to update the bios. I have version "P01.A3", while on their website they have a "P11.A4" dated two years later.

The bios comes as a .CAP file, and I get the error message:
ROM file size does not match existing BIOS size

It's apparently a fairly common error, not just on this system I have:

I have not found anyone that has been successful in working around any of the issues, anyone here successfully dealt with this issue?
