AMEX gift Card

Stupid rebates now come with AMEX gift cards.

Ok fine, so I have 2x $120 cards. I think the best way to deal with them is to turn them into Amazon gift cards. Amazon lets me do email gift cards of ANY value.

So naturally I used them to buy 2x gift cards of $120 each. However they got declined, and never went through. I looked at the balance and it says $119 with a -$1 pending charge from Amazon. I'm pretty sure that only occurred after I put in the gift card request.

Anyone have any experience with these piece of shit AMEX gift cards?

Buy GC for -$1 of the total you have on the GC? I usually use them at Comcast since they don't do the $1 pending.

I use them at the grocery store. pad your purchase with more beer as required.

I've never been able to use Amex gift cards at Amazon.

so I'll buy Amazon giftcards at the grocery store with my Amex giftcard.

Had the same thing happen several years ago. I broke down and just bought $n-1 gift card.

i had no problem buying AMZ gift card for the exact balance on two cards last year

i use them at Target, just buy extra toilet paper since i don't drink beer

Seriously, why jump through hoops just to use them at Amazon. Use it for gas/groceries/etc and make life simple.....

Oh that $1 charge should've clued me in. I need to do a $n-1 charge... LoL. Dumb me.

Oh what the internet has done to us. I kept trying to figure out what internet purchases I could make to spend $240. But if I had $1 left, would I be able to get $1 of gas? How would that work? Plus many gas stations do an authorization hold....
