Sorry about this, but is there anyone who has the amex blue pricematch email claim address, and what do you need to send with your claims, do they take links and reciept scans or what?

Again sorry.

This is simply an auto-responder. No real person sent this. I would still call and confirm receipt of my claim. I was told that email claims were no longer being processed by several different BVG in the past month .

Don't mean to be rude or anything but wouln't these questions be best answered by making a call to Amex. This way you get your answer immediately and from someone of authority. Every once in a while we have someone ask a question about Amex pricematching, email, about using coupons with pricematch and such. The customer service folks at Amex are some of the most helpful I've ever encoutered and it would seem the best place to ask some of these questions.

I obviously will call to make sure my claim was received...but I did this recently with another PM that I did and on the phone they told me the email was no longer working, yet it sent it anyways. Volia, i still got my check... Personally i do and do not understand why they are getting rid of the email address for claims:

1. Email is simple for us, just scan and send your info...this makes them lose more money because it is so simple to do.
2. Snail mail takes longer for us, i.e. they hope we won't bother with sending it in, thus they save more money

Anyways, I hope BVG sticks around...the way it gets abused is gonna send it to its grave :(

The phone number for BVG is 1-800-557-8317 and the email is amexclaims@awgais.com fyi. I've sent scanned images over email before, but wacky things have happened with that. I made 3 claims that all used the same receipt, and I sent the same email attatchment for all 3. 2 of them were accepted, but the 3rd said the receipt was illegible.... Who knows? Almost everytime I've tried to do a pricematch through email, I've ended up having to send them a letter with stuff anyway. I'd stick to snail mail IMO.

just FYI, what amex does when they get your info is scan it into their own system. So if you fax something there, they scan it into their system so that the CSRs can access your file if necessary. I had the problem of an illegible Fry's Ad scan because I had to mail it in. First I had to print the scan...losing valuable DPI, and once they got it, they scanned it again...and voila, unreadable! I haven't had any trouble with the email claims...but now they say they're not accepting anymore. The last email claim I filed (see prior post) was on 2/8/02. They had told me that email was no longer accepted but everything turne dout fine and i got my check. Your guess is as good as mine as far as if it will still work or not. I just called to check if my new email claim was received, but their system is down apparently. I'll update when i find out. I just submitted the claim on 3/7/02 via email.

My only question is how do you snail mail the web sites for price match, do you print out the web page or what? I mean seems like theres a good chance if you don't things won't be in stock by the time they get it.

Mind still saying obtaining credit authorization on the first page, then "Shipment Pending" on the second page, and there still a pre-authorzied amount on my credit card, not a charge yet. I think they are trying to get us call them, and tell us in person saying that they will cancel our order because they are stupid, or else, they will take off the pre-authorized amount within a year or so. Any one?

BVG does not require the item ito be in stock at the time of the PM request. They don't even care if the site sill carries the product by the time they examine your claim.

megatron - AMEX BVG does not "scan" the info that you FAX to them. HeHe, I could just see it now - A room full of FAX machines and scanners and people running back and forth trying to keep up as claims are flowing out like lava. When you FAX info to them it goes directly into their imaging system. The only thing that you need to watch out when you FAX your BVG claim is that the BVG system shrinks everything down to 8x11 and if you are FAXing documents like web pages directly from your browser via a virtual FAX priter setup, these drivers do not generally output in page formatted FAXes. The result is that often information is lost on the bottom and sides of the web page being FAXed even though you may be able to clearly see all the information from the copies stored in your your FAX log. The solution to this is to print out the web pages and then scan them with your scanner.

What I don't understnad, however, is that AMEX says "if you see a lower price IN PRINT"... doesn't that exclude online stores?

I suppose once you print out the web page, then the price is "in print." :p

UPDATE The claim that I emailed on 3/7 was received on 3/8 and is being processed in their system. Apparently the email still works! I just called and confirmed the receipt of my materials.

I spoke to an Amex BVG CSR and i think she said they need a dated advertisement to pricematch. Since i have not used this service yet, i was wondering how can we submit a lower price from an online store, since if we print it out, it wont have a date on it? Does Amex honor online stores/ads?

You just have to print the web page out. I've done this with about 15 pricematches. They go by the date that most browsers put at the bottom of the printout. This is easily changed, but they honor it anyway.

I want to buy something from hifi.com and PM to somewhere else. hifi.com as their own LPG, but it states that they will only PM to other authorized dealers. Amex Blue won't PM if the store you bought from has their own PM, correct? But it seems I remember in the past on here people have mentioned that Amex will PM stores that have a LPG but it has limitations such as this. So can I use Amex's BVG to PM to another store that is not an authorized dealer?
