"More than 47% of the money Americans spend on food will be spent at restaurants in 2005 vs. 25% in 1955, says the National Restaurant Association."

The most common excuse I hear for not eating healthful foods is that it's too expensive. Yet, people seem to have enough momey to eat out.

Restaurant sales climb with bad-for-you food

I would disagree, convenience is more important than price for me.

I agree, but 47% (even by dollar value) is not moderation.

I'm around the 15% and comfortable with that ( = fast food once a week).

Eff that. When I was in Europe people seemed to eat out way way more than we do here. Also, it pretty much IS cheaper to go out and buy junk-food for two rather than one healthy meal from the grocery store....if you wanna eat truly healthy food anyway.

And if we all were actually paying attention during that faith-based, government-sponsored, Riprorin-approved abstinence-only sexual education program, there'd be fewer of us to eat all that fast food. Go figure..
