Some of the terrorists were from Minnesota which does have a large Somali community and when some members spoke out they were attacked by CAIR which is a radical group.

Somalis are by far the worst integrated people in western Europe.

meh I heard that in canada they're less segregated but I don't really know, there aren't any somalis here.
The only time I heard about somalians in switzerland is when one tried to rape a girl in a toilet on a train by threatening her with a screwdriver and got his ass handed to him by 4 conscripts.

I think you're forgetting that the Afghan government directly supported AQ. That government needed to be deposed. Our long term occupation was a mistake, but we did need to get rid of their government.

If you are going to depose a government, realistically you are also committing to some sort of occupation afterwards. There is going to be a power vacuum, and unless you stick around to make sure it is filled correctly, the outcome could be worse.

The problem was thinking otherwise, that it could be done quicker and trying to sell it to the public IMO. Especially in such a lawless and tribalistic region.
