I saw a part of American Psycho on TV last night, but decided to rent the movie and see the movie in its entirety. I'm not sure when it was released, but I'm surprised this didn't stir up some controversy. The movie was pretty good, IMO but not great. I was also surprised to see Reese Witherspoon in this type of movie. Anyway, what did you think of it?

FYI: the psycho was the kid that did the empire of the sun back in 1987.

he should earn the best actor in oscar as a kid.

Brilliant.

Bateman:Heuy Lewis, they're a little to black sounding for me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bateman:As we enter the restaurant, I am almost in tears, fearing we won't get a good table. But thankfully we do, and relief washes over me in an awesome wave.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bateman:This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bateman: He was into that whole Yale thing.
Kimball: Yale thing?
Bateman: Yeah, Yale thing.
Kimball: What whole Yale thing?
Bateman: Well, he was probably a closet homosexual who did a lot of cocaine. That whole Yale thing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Patrick Bateman: Paul Allen has mistaken me for this dickhead Marcus Halberstam. It seems logical because Marcus also works at P&P and in fact does the same exact thing I do and he also has a penchant for Valentino suits and Oliver Peoples glasses. Marcus and I even go to the same barber, although I have a slightly better haircut.

im trying to find a good deal on the uncensored dvd version.
but i think it came and went so quickly, so long ago that its up to like 100+ dollars a pop.
and, as much as i like the movie, ill just read the book again for that kind of cash.

On TV, it was censored, of course and so that was another reason why I decided to rent the DVD, which wasn't censored. BTW, I just found out that there is American Psycho II. Sadly, from various reviewers on IMDB, it looks like a terrible movie.

Yup, two is horrible from what I remember. The first one was great, though. Two thumbs up for the original.

Gee, it's hard to imagine how a movie with William Shatner and that loud-mouthed bitchy little brunette girl from "That 70's Show" could suck. With such an a-list cast I'd have expected the next Citizen Kane

Saw the movie, didn't really get it. Thought it was kind of dumb and overly violent with nothing to redeem it from the violence (ala Pulp Fiction, etc).

I never really understood why people like it so much. Oh well :)

As I remember it, the book was pretty wild, I couldn't put it down. Never cared much for the movie.

Loved the movie, hated the sequel--the one with Mila Kunis, right??
