Nice link. :p

The American people do have lobbyists though. The NRA, AARP, PETA, etc. are all lobbying organizations.

Typically, once things get big enough, they stop fighting for who they're made of, and start fighting for the entity, itself. See: Corrupt Unions, Corporations, Government. All are made of people, most fight only for those at the top.

*Edit* Forgot to add. This looks like the people are just trying to take out some middle men.

Is it possible that some posters in this thread commented on the OP without actually clicking the link?

I was wondering which astrotuff organization was paying for "the American People" lobbying group when I noticed that it was the Onion.

"Before today, I'd actually never heard of this group," Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) told reporters. "But if Jack says they're worth my time, I'll take a look and see if maybe there are some areas where our interests overlap."

Unlike R.J. Reynolds, Pfizer, or Bank of America, the U.S. populace lacks the access to public officials required to further its legislative goals," a statement from the nation read in part. "Jack Weldon gives us that access."

This would be funnier if it wasn't completely true...
