I only watched the last 45 minutes of the show, but only because there was nothing else better to watch. I think the show sux and I'll probably never watch it again, but I think the kid at the end should've gotten through to the next round.

For those who didn't see it, his invention was a fan/ac thing that would hang in the open window of a car to cool down your dog if you leave it in the car. I think this is a great idea and would definitely buy it. I dont think people should leave their pets in their hot cars for long periods of time, but it would probably be okay for 10-15 minutes especially if you have the fan/ac thing in the window.

Yeah I think he should have gotten in. Some of the other inventions really sucked.

Any noteworthy ideas? I ment to watch that. Atleast something good can come from it.

My inventions are better then most of those. I havn't seen anything that would be worthy of "greatest american invention."

I didn't like the kid's reaction to being dismissed. He seemed like a brat. I know hes a kid, but 14 isn't that young.

As for the invention.....the judges let in worse, much, much worse.

The kid's idea had a TON of problems.

1. When can and can't you use it? If it's 100 degree outside, that fan isn't going to cool down the car enough to make it feasible for the dog. At that temp, you're just blowing hot air around.

2. I believe it may be illegal to leave your dog alone in a car, so in order to sell that product, you'd have to change laws.

3. People would abuse it and leave their dogs in their cars for way longer than the fan intended in the first place.

There are just way too many issues with that one.

It's a box, with a fan in it... He should have marketed it towards humans to keep their interior cool during the summer, as well.

I think the kid had a good idea, and better yet he was smart and would definitely make a better inventor than many of the others that made it to the next round.

Poor kid burned his hands on the soldering iron!

But to be honest, his invention wasn't really good. He's on the right track though.

Kid's idea was ok, nothing more really than a portable fan though.

Best invention that episode was IMO the sand bag shovel. I'm thinking another use would be raking leaves; i don't know how many times i've found it a b*tch trying alone to get the hefty bag to stay open wide enough to dump a heaping rake of leaves into.

And regards to the show itself, how about the emotions and passion some people showed? I liked that...i was particularly moved by the black guy with the bag of portable fitness equipment, i could just see him in a drama playing some passionate heroic role. I wonder if he can act? Because i definitely see star potential there.

Sometimes people will disagree with the judges (of any show) but remember why they're there in the first place: they know what they're doing.

WTF he spend 20k on to get that model? But yea, the idea was pretty nifty.

I liked the kid, but his invention was not good. He should have thought of something else.

Think about it- he made a device to justify doing something you shouldn't be doing in the first place. If the fan goes out, your dog could die. Not good.

If only he had brought something else.
