Damn, this series blew @ss when I first saw it but now I am addicted. The last two builds they showed haven't felt 'fake' in the way they were filmed and cut.
People getting fired, and key people quitting..... it feels real.

I watch that one every now and then, but I don't add it to my weekly watch list, it's more when I catch it. But yea, I agree with you, it seems much better now. On a side note I also like the old guy on southern steal, he is quite fun to watch (not sure about the rest of the show yet thou).

Oh man, Southern Steel just feels ..... weird and fake. Those guys can't be for real.

In every episode someone's quitting or getting fired. Tonight's episode was particualry bizarre. Why did Charlie want to go to the other shop? I wasn't paying attention to the first half of the episode. And why was Boyd's wife crying like a baby when she heard he was leaving? What was up with that?

I haven't seen the lastest ones, but from what I've seen in the past, the show isn't nearly as good as American Chopper.

Because Charlie is well liked throughout the shop. But he's off to bigger and better thing with someone that opened his own shop who used to be with Boyd. I haven't watched it yet, but I watched the last episode and figured Charlie would leave.

Just got finished watching the episode. I think Boyd was showing his true colors blowing up at Charley like that. that last segment was pretty sad too.

I've seen pretty much all episodes and from teh feel from the show the tight deadlines has been taking a toll on him and ge pretty much had enough.
The reason the wife cried like a baby was that Charlie used to live at Boyds house for two years and they were good friends.
Boyd hates Fooses' guts pretty much. He used to be on Boyds' team and something happened.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened with Chip. Chip probably decided he wanted to open his own shop, and Boyd probably told him to go @*%^ himself too like he did to charley.

Correct. And I dont blame him. Charlie had to put up with a lot of crap at Boyds and he was obviously tired of it.

I certainly wouldn't want to put in long hour days on weekends just to meet a project deadline that needed to have more time allocated in the first place. Especially if I was married with a kid like Charley is.

That's the same dude, but I doubt he'll be appearing on that show. He doesn't like deadlines (and that show APPEARS TO BE one gigantic deadline, I have my doubts that it's actually done that quickly, though). Foose has quite an enterprise for himself, and is easily one of the more talented designers in the entire damned industry.

Overhaulin' is such a better show. Chip Foose has a good personality and he actually does work on hte cars himself, instead of complaining and whining while not doing anything like Boyd.

Mike(Beetle Bailey) works for Foose now as well. The only two productive people on the show are gone. From what I have heard Charlie got his whole paint crew to follow him to Foose as well.

Well that Just goes to show that Charley is well respected. Too bad Boyd couldn't see that, or maybe he just didn't care enough.

My gripe with Overhaulin' is that they use the same parts 99.999% of the time. Change it up a little, dammit. Don't mind you pimping your sponsor's brands, but not every show car on earth should get a supercharged 350 Chevy. I'm sure you could fit a 450BB crate in some of those things.

And when the fvck do they actually run new episodes? TLC sucks at reruns, they choose 3 and rerun those, rather than rotating through the entire run)

My gripe with Overhaulin is the lame phone prank crap. Just build the damn car.

Does it appear to anybody else that American Hot Rod does more harm to Boyds image then good? Not that I could afford it but after watching it there is noway in hell I would want Boyd's group building a $100k+ car for me. He needs to rethink this idea or quit acting like an ass.

It's amusing to see people get all angsty about a trashed old car that's worth about $75 in parts.

Charlie appeared on Overhaulin' a while ago and made a jab at Boyd's shop....

Charlie is the person who painted Foose's custom Caddies.

I watched that episode late night, and it was damn good. I actually like Foose's work a lot better than Boyd's Hot Rods. Foose works on more modern cars, and I love his style and design. The stuff he did on a few "Rides" episodes was awesome.

I wonder if Charlie was putting the wood to Boyd's wife? She sure seemed pretty upset at his leaving!
