(yes, im asking you all instead of american express directly)

I have 2 American Express accounts, (A) and (B)

on (A) I have bought lots of electronics.
if I cancel (A), and consolidate into (B) (new primary card), will I retain the Extended Warranty feature for electronics bought with (A)??

Since I am not closing AMEX entirely but rather "transferring" account from A to B...

(yes, i want to close it, instead of filing away in a drawer)

I think you would not be covered. Don't the Terms and Conditions specify the card used to purchase the item must be active and in good standing at the time of a claim? Consolidating into a different card would make it too easy for them to deny a claim.

"Sir, I checked your records, and the card you used to purchase the item is no longer valid. The card must still be active in order to file a claim"
"Yes, but see, I consolidated it.."
"Sir, is there any thing else I can help you with?"

Seems to me that even if an AmEx CSR said you'd still be covered, I think you'd be denied.
