I just saw this option on my account details so I think it's a new cardholder feature (for me at least).

It lets you notify AMEX that you intend to submit a payment on your account and lets you choose a date that you plan to do it.

My question is why would anyone use it? It doesn't help you in any way and leaves a bad mark on your account if you lie. Is something up with AMEX?
