I watched tonight's FG ep, it was so-so. Then I started watching American Dad, way way better. Especially since that's how I feel a lot of the time, going out places with my in-laws, being the only one not speaking Cantonese and just nodding and smiling, having my mother-in-law always telling me what to do and coming out with these crazy all-natural remedies for things.

I have never liked American Dad... and I missed the FG episode tonight :(

I just don't find AD funny

FG > AD to me still.

There are things about each series I really like, and things I don't. But more and more I'm finding that FG does those horrible 3 minute long drawn out jokes that just aren't funny, and less of the really funny stuff like the puking scene. American Dad just keeps moving from one thing to another, always keeps it funny.

Both are ok, but still "filler" status for me cause both shows are kind of retarded and don't have any lasting quality.

Ugh, I hate both of them. Give me South Park or old-school Simpson's any day of the week.

American Dad is terrible. And South Park is certainly better than Family Guy.

Yeah. A three-part series on our imaginations and terrorist attacks, using years old jokes and pop culture references. Yep...that's WAY better.

Or a five minute scene of Peter holding his knee going "Ahhh".

Clearly you are not the audience for any of these shows.

Hence my comment about Family Guy doing drawn out scenes that aren't funny these days. That's one of them. Another is Stewie asking Brian about his book. Really stupid, really unnecessary, just crap filler.

How was it excellent? South Park used to be so current, they'd do up an episode in only a few days after something happened, now it seems like they're using scripts they've been sitting on for months at least. I'll grant that the Al Gore/Man-Bear-Pig thing was kind of funny, but the heavy LOTR references, the over and over Cartman/balls thing, just got old after the second episode worth of it. The ending was funny, but most everything leading up to that wasn't.

Yeah, you're right. We need more shows that revolve around, not speaking Cantonese. Yeah, that sounds much better. I'm sure that big audience of ONE will enjoy it thoroughly.

Way to pick one thing out of a post and focus on it. One of the (many) things I found funny in that episode wouldn't necessarily have been funny to someone else, but I'm sure enough people laughed to make it worth putting it in there. Plenty of funny stuff in the episode, do you really need a play-by-play to compare, or can I trust you know how to turn on your TV all by yourself and watch it?

Re-used jokes on south park? Excuse me, but this reason is lamer than that time I tried ice-fishing.

BLASPHEMY! Stewie talking about Brian's book is probably the best part of Family Guy :p

Not re-used, just old. But point taken :)

It's really the same problem with both shows, they draw out stuff that really shouldn't be drawn out.

Besides Seth McFarlane being a pompous ass, I can agree. Then again, Futurama easily trumps his crap shows, and with their new stuff coming out it is no contest.

That's one thing I have no problem agreeing with. I can't wait until the new stuff comes out, it's been such a long time. Hell, my wife is getting sick of all of the Futurama reruns I play everyday :)

I don't even understand how what I wrote versus what you quoted served any purpose.
