American Coke is terrible

Scouzer

When I visited the US a couple months ago, my first food impression is how awful the coke is. Ugh! I had not realized how awful HFCS could be. No wonder Pepsi still exists!

I had not looked prior to going, but Canadian Coke is real sugar like Mexican Coke. So much better.

Mountain Dew is still nasty though. The Canadian stuff doesn't have caffeine.

What?

American Mountain Dew has caffeine doesn't it? Or am I mistaken? The Canadian stuff does not. It's nasty both sides of the border.

I actually didn't try Pepsi. I just assumed it was not HFCS since no one here talks about it.

Almost everything here is HFCS, unfortunately.

American Mountain Dew has tons of caffeine. A Canadian friend was visiting my in-laws one time and was downing Mountain Dew like crazy one night. After a while they asked if it was really a good idea to drink that much caffeine before bed. He had no idea there was caffeine in American Mountain Dew. He didn't sleep much that night.

They're different:Q!

I just assumed that the stuff I get, made in Mississauga, ON, is just made local with the exact same formula.

And is there really some law that says you can't put caffeine in a drink that's not brown in Canada... I remember something about Sprite, 7-up and Mountain Dew being decaffeinated.

cane sugar is A LOT better then the HFCS, not just in taste..but better for you (supposedly).

Yes, Mountain Dew tastes like crap imo too.

That's correct. No caffeine in light coloured beverages. Sprite and 7-UP have caffeine there?? Didn't know that. None here. I'm glad there isn't!

Sprite doesn't have caffeine and I don't believe 7-up does either.

Tons? Mountain Dew has 55 mg per 12 oz serving. That's 0.000000061 tons of caffeine per 12 oz serving. You fail.
