American Chopper marathon today on Discovery Channel

Sluggo

Lifer
American Chopper all day marathon on Discovery Channel.

Heh, I love this show.

Of course the dynamics of the father and son are very similar to my father and myself when we work together. 😛

I like that show too. I just saw the first episode of American HotRod yesterday. Same producer as American Chopper.
The HotRod show was lame in comparison.

As for the bike they build: I think they are way over worked. I prefer Jesse James design, and he actually makes the frame for his bike himself.

They unveiled a new bike on Saturday. It's a Snap-On tools themed bike. I guess Snap-On is sponsoring the show next season.

I saw the other bikes earlier in the week. They look awesome in person. The guy that does their paint is a genius.

Not sure what you mean by overworked?

Too much show, not enough bike maybe. I like their stuff, some of the bikes can get a little much, but I've seen worse.

The whole idea of their theme bikes are to go over the top. Thats why they are theme bikes. It's not like they don't make "normal" bikes for their customers.

Edit: I just noticed the Alias links in your sig. I had a dream last night that I was in an episode. It was weird because part of it was real and part was like we were taping a show. I think it is my new Alias wallpaper and getting hyped for the new season thats doing it.

Edit 2: I'm not trying to put down J James' work. The man is brilliant with metal.

the first step is admitting your problem 😀

I think the marathon finished here at 8pm or so. Watched pretty much all of it except for the very beginnging. I would love to get those whole series on DVD but it's $144 at the Discovery Store 🙁🙁🙁

I'm thinking of getting "Mike's Bike" on DVD though. Haven't seen that build as much as the others, plus Mike and Paul Sr. are hilarious together.

Oh I know what you mean. I get that the theme bikes are supposed to be flashy. But for someone who's never seen any of their other bikes, they could get the impression that all their bikes look like that.

Can't wait for season 3 of Alias to start. One hell of a cliffhanger to end last season. Can't wait for my Season 1 DVD box set to get here too. Great show.

I don't think anyone could slam Jesse's work. Amazing bikes. Built the company from the ground up. Hopefully one day, I'll have one of his bikes. When I first saw him on the Discovery Channel way before Monster Garage, I was blown away. I know this may sound corny, but seeing him do what he's doing gave me a ton of motivation to try and do the same. Maybe one day, I could be doing the same thing. 🙂
