The only real American victory was The Battle of New Orleans, which was fought after the Treaty of Ghent was signed.
The war was far more of a Canadian/British/French victory, particularly after we chased the President away and burnt down the whitehouse as revenge for the burning of York (Toronto).

I love how people are arguing about cars they will either never own, or ever drive. If they get to drive them they will probably never get close to the maximum MPH and even if they did, they are fekking morons for doing so on 99.9999% of the roads in this world.
A 200MPH top speed doesn't matter jack crap when you are sitting in traffic in LA, Wash. DC, or anywhere else. You can say it matters on the Autobahn, but how many people have driven ~200 on the Autobahn? Personally, I drove 150 on it and I was scared crapless, in a Lambo no less. (stayed with a well connected family in Germany, a friend in the gubment with money let me drive his on a quick jaunt).
Seriously, who gives a crap guys? Gatsby is saying any US Car sucks compared to Euro, but they also cost much less. Their max speed doesn't matter. What matters is that you are happy with what you have.

Who cares. Face it. We are better off without the British, their fugly teeth, their nasty food, their crappy miserable island, and we beat them twice, essentially. Then, since their navy couldn't completely handle ze Germanz, we gave them a bunch of crappy boats from 30 years prior to fight some tiny tin cans that were ripping them to shreds and choaking their ability to resupply. Then we also let some of their flyboys train in the US while we gave them planes, ammunition, food, and other stuffs.
All of this doesn't matter jack crap right now, considering both of us are seperate countries, yet an American company owns three of the most major British auto companies.
Even that doesn't matter since they still have disgusting teeth and crappy weather. So get over it.

I am Canadian. And like it or not the British were/are a major influence here. The whole war of 1812 was caused by President Madison and his supporters in the House deciding that a trade dispute with Britain was worth going to war over when the whole thing could have been settled diplomatically instead.
I am surprised he didn't want to search British ships for WMDs.
Britain, Canada and the USA all needed each other during WW1 and WW2. The sad part was FDR wanted to do more to help England but Congress had his hands tied.

I drive a fast, reliable and safe car that anyone could buy for 2 grand now (745tic). My next volvo will be faster and safer and still cost under 10k (850r). They also actually have a nice looking interior unlike every american car ive ever seen. Before you laugh in my face about fast, I'm not talking about a vette or racing down at the track, I'm saying faster then average cars you'd see out on the road, and faster then any rice crap with fart cans.
I also dont have any lame decals on my car that would get laughed at outside of hillbilly ville.

I've driven a 744 Turbo, I wouldn't imagine the wagon (necessarily heavier) would be faster, so I feel that I am justified in saying that your car isn't fast compared to everyday cars on the road. A V6 Mustang or a plane-jane V6 Accord would equal it in speed. The 744/745 Turbo had 160 hp. At best, it's adequate. It's about as fast as any V6 family sedan or wagon built today given the listed 0-55 time of 6.7 seconds. (Volvo ads at the time said "to legal speed" in 6.7 seconds, and when those ads were published, 55mph was the US limit.)
That said, I have always loved Volvos. Something about the boxy shape; I've always found them to be classy in an honest, hard-working sort of way. Ironically enough, I'm getting bored with my Mustang (don't get me wrong, I think the Mustang is a fantastic car, but I've seldom held onto a car for a year; I've been driving for 8 years and have had 7 cars, 8 if you count selling one car and then buying it back later) and am looking at a lightly modified, 295hp Volvo 854 T5. I've discovered that back seats are more necessary for me than I'd originally thought.
Long story short, you've got a fine car. But other people enjoying their cars doesn't hurt you in the least. Let it go.

2003 Cobra Terminator for me. One of the best American cars on the road. Hand built, runs 12s bone stock on street tires, 9s with less than $10k in mods, and 1+g skidpad and can hang with the best Vettes and BMWs on a twisty road course with its coil overs, ABS and, and independent suspension on all 4 wheels. Punch the gas and you can't breath. I love it. Body style is straight and clean cut without all the flared, scooped, and spoilered plastic BS that every new Mustang BUT the Cobra has.
I wanted a Porsche Boxster S for the longest time because I loved the clean styling and interior and the whole 'OMG a Porsche' stigma, but in the end I realized people don't give a rats ass what kind of car you have or what features it has. Because when that light turns yellow and you have to stop next to the person you we're egging on or sh1t talking with, and there is nobody in front of you and no excuses, we all know what happens next and who gets to laugh all the way; suddenly name brand and bling doesn't matter anymore. It would have cost $20k for a turbo 3.6L swap on the Boxster S just to get to 360HP. The Cobra comes with 390HP stock, 500HP with a wrench and a flash tuner, and 700HP+ with a few bolt ons! The final factor was the ability to get my hands dirty because the 4.6 aftermarket makes the Porsche aftermarket seem non-existent (just try to find high performance cams for a Boxster S 3 years ago, if not today).
And the Cobra seats four and wont piss me off sitting in the garage while we get smoked in a buddy's Senta because there are more than two of us that day.

I've had people in M3s riding my ass on the off ramp interchange at 80+ trying to prove something about handling and I've put distance on them and forced them to back off, so don't give me that crap that American cars can't handle unless you're still living in the 70s-80s.
I absolutely cannot stand rice, but I love all cars and have no problems with imports that can put down real numbers (I even admire nice clean stock Civics with B20 swaps and nothing else; 300 HP and 2,800 lbs is better than most cars on the road). If I had infinite money I'd stick a 3SGTE in my '95 Camry, I'd get a Magnacharger and a '07 GTO, and a 350Z with a Stillen twin screw blower; all 500+ HP cars that would be sitting next to the Cobra. For now I'll just keep saving up to upgrade my Kenne Bell 2.4 to a 2.8 and eyeball that 1600 HP 4.6 shortblock.

My Crown Vic is faster and safer. It also seats more people and in comfort.
Interior appearance is subjective to say the least. I love the interior of my Mopar, but not the interior of my ford.

My Caprice Class from 1977 got up to ~115 w/o overdrive (didn't have the option). Not bad for an old rusty 200 dollar car!
