yes she didn't kill him....but once she saw him dead she freaked out and starting crying cuz he was dead....thats why she threw the gun and started hugging his clothes

and the bag was suppose to represent the beauty that can be found in everything around us. Thats why lester says "sometimes there is so much beauty in the world my heart swells as if it would burst...then i rember to relax and it flows through me like rain"

the story was basicly about finding beauty in everything around you and how things that appear normal(ie American Families) aren't always normal underneath.
