Oh well... it was a good run. RIP PagePlus. (At least as far as their customer service goes)

FYI: Start Wireless *IS* Page Plus's corporate entity.

That is not good news. I'm on Platinumtel luckily but I put a few close family members on Page Plus. Hopefully everything can continue uninterrupted.

I don't see how this is bad for PP. I'm a former PP user who moved to Straight Talk (owned by America Movil) because they offered better coverage, devices and plans.

Well, Page Plus offers pay as you go, the 12 plan, and then on up. There is alot of flexibility built into Page Plus for lighter users that is not available in Straight Talk.

I'm not really up to date on the cdma side of Straight Talk but I'd hardly consider any gsm based Straight Talk non-byod plan to be superior to native verizon 3G that page plus offers except for if you need unlimited with alot of data, which is what you are probably referring to.

Straight Talk tried to implement BYOD Verizon at, I think, the PP price but it bombed due to lack of infrastructure and experience. Shut down indefinitely.

I think they just bought that business instead of trying to launch it separately.

As long as they don't screw with the plan structure (I have 4 phones on PPC), I'll be happy. I do all of my business through http://www.kittywireless.com who has killer customer service, so I hope that won't change, either...

This. They had a CDMA BYOP program for a week, then took it off and now we know why. Also their CDMA BYOP program had tons of restrictions so it really wasn't BYOP.

This is America Movil's 2nd major takeover. They took over Simple Mobile before.
