With that being said, shame on the dad for leaving his 11 year old daughter at home alone.

Time for more people to learn how to handle a weapon like her. She was not off playing with it, she knew what it would do and what it is for. That is responsible gun ownership.

Look slike a fake story but some gunnuts website. Here is what someone asked at another site...

"can you tell me where you got this information? I live in Montana and I didn't hear about it - I checked the Billings Gazette, Helena Independent Record and Butte's own paper the Montana Standard, nothing. We subscribe to Freedom 1st and American Hunter and I don't remember seeing it in the Armed Citizen section of either mag. I also find it odd that "Patricia" was a clay shooting champion at age 9 - I know of no recognized shooting competition that would involve a child of that age. I don't think this article is "real"."

Looks like you all have been fooled by the pro gun/nra people.

Read my edit on the first page...it appears this is a pure bull-sh*t story...NO truth to it at all. The various websites have her listed as 9 or 11, and oddly enough, doing a search on her name only gives links to the forums that have this BS story in play, NOTHING containing the actual news, nor even anything that shows her as being the clay shooting champion...
Just another gun-lover's bs story...

I bet you would never find any similar BS stories on the gun control crowd's blog sites. Single point of view advocates for/against any issue do this crap all the time.

P&N.

This is not.

Also, this is quickly becoming a police state quicker and more quietly than any in history. The only difference is, instead of a central governance, it is corporate feudalism that is ruling it's people. Just look at how much foothold insurance companies have got in regulating personal freedoms, and gaining every day.

No argument there, just pointing out the obvious slant to this apparently made up story.
The basis of this, (young white girl, home alone, defends herself & home against 2 armed ILLEGAL brown men) is a NRA wet-dream...and the kind of story that FAUX would be tripping over themselves to cover if it were true...

I don't think its so much that someone published a BS story as much as it is about the irony of using this story as an example of selective reporting by the "liberal media ".

The right to bear arms isn't a "point of view" it is in the constitution!
The same one that are law enforcement, judges and entire legal system are set upon. If you want to start picking and choosing what you want to out of the constitution based on your "personal view of things" then you obviously don't want to be in the US.

The reason it's difficult to find any more information is because the mainscream media simply refuses to ever include or print a story where a citizen defends themselve with a gun. If they do it's only because they were a little ole lady who used to be miss america.

That's a fact.

No such thing as the "liberal media" eh?

Media Bias Is Real, Finds UCLA Political Scientist

Media Bias Is Real, Finds UCLA Political Scientist

While the editorial page of The Wall Street Journal is conservative, the newspaper's news pages are liberal, even more liberal than The New York Times. The Drudge Report may have a right-wing reputation, but it leans left. Coverage by public television and radio is conservative compared to the rest of the mainstream media. Meanwhile, almost all major media outlets tilt to the left.

Saying it's not in the news because of "liberal bias" is stupid. Where's the proof that this even happened? Bias or not, it would make the news somewhere.

edit: Not directed at Spidey's post, just in general

You'd think that IF this had really happened, FAUX would be all over it...young white girl defends her home, and kills 2 heavily armed ILLEGAL brown men...

Where does it say she was white? Are you just assuming anyone who shoots sporting clays in Montana (or anyone at all in Montana) is white?

Funny you seek to impugn me based on my response but I stand by it. You will no doubt feel more than a little silly when I tell you that I believe that the 2nd amendment does mean exactly what it says and that it does acknowledge the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. That does not blind me to the political gamesmanship that goes on between the "pro gun" lobby and the "gun control" lobby.

Well, if this is a true story, then awesome! Way to go Patricia! Glad she was so clam under pressure and saved her own life by ending the lives of two people who didn't deserve to be wasting precious air in the first place.

If it's a fake story, oh well. Wouldn't surprise me if it was true.
