That ship sailed back in the 80s and 90s. The US has a long and verifiable record of environmental destruction world-wide from the Ecuadorian jungle all the way to the deserts of Iraq. The real question now is can the US destroy the planet and then successfully hold all the rest of the world responsible for fixing it.
