I just saw this today, looks like AMD has now come out with a form of Nvidia's Shadow Play called GAMR DVR which I really miss! So now to see how good it works, but it's only beta atm so keep that in mind atm. :) I have tried both Dxtory and Action and don't compare to Shadow Play in FPS lost while recording. They both seem to lose (even w/lll in DX) somewhere around 15 +/- fps while Shadow Play hardly losses any FPS in comparison imo. I have to go back and research now after reading about Game DVR because I thought I read awhile on another forum someone saying Nvidia might have HW assist but not sure if this was/is true or not. For me Shadow Play is the one thing I miss since switching to a AMD 290 from my GTX 770 as I used it quite often.

I installed it. It works, 1-2 FPS drop doing a quick and dirty comparison with Sleeping Dogs' bench.

The quality is okay, about the same as Shadowplay. In other words, it's garbage and I wouldn't use it for anything but YouTube/Twitch. D:

:) ^

I haven't tried it yet and when I installed the 14.6 drivers I did a custom install and didn't install the gaming evolved software. Everything has been running great and now a little concerned adding gaming evolved back in :) but I'll have to do it now. I will be installing it tomorrow and give it a try. Btw if it's only around 2 fps that would awesome!

The only video I seen so far with Game DVR below, but not sure what quality he recorded it in and what if any converting if any before uploading it to YT.

Very very nice. But I'm going to wait few versions down the developing line.

Their comments page looks like... well... driver feedback page D:

Nice, though I don't really use Shadowplay or this, I prefer DXTORY for its wide range of options and audio channels.

These capture and stream stuff are made for twitch or other gaming stream sites, for anything serious, fraps then a good encoding software is still the go to.

I was checking the msi afterburner recording settings and it also has support for the hardware encoders on modern amd and nvidia cards, as wel as intel quicksync. Also has the "always record, press button to save" feature.

TR / BM/Ultra/ Game DVR

I recorded the below video sample in BF3 (Ultra Preset) with Game DVR set at 1080p, 50mb/s.. GDVG (beta) right now is having some problems working with Origin games from what I have read. It took me a while to get BF3 to work properly with GDVR and had to change some settings on Origin to get GDVR to record BF3 to work correctly, but once I did it I was able to get it to work. Unfortunately I have not been able to get it to work with BF4 yet. (btw make sure you choose 1080P quality on YT if not on by default)
