Opterons > Xeon in terms of performance at the upper levels.
LV Xeons are still probably the best for bang for the buck performance though.

Until Intel releases a real peforming dualcore (not a 2.8 Xeon) which is obliterated by a AMD X70 much less a X75 or now the X80 than Intel will continue to lose marketshare.

I really want intel to come up with something. my next workstation will be dual dual core, and with no competition from intel, the prices are just silly.
$1100 for what's basically a 4400+? gimme a break.
