AMD doesn't have the volume to make money from low end because they have to give all of their low end stuff to the console makers and are barely getting any money from it, they are not happy about losing that money.
Increasing revenue by not making money doesn't work if you can't outlast your competition.
Even with the last two quarters being bad for intel they are still on the status quo of net income of the super high demand times while AMD already lost about 10% even though they have record quarters.
