AMD's Next Thunderbird?

Crisis

Is AMD planning on releasing another Thunderbird higher then 1.33 soon, and if so, when? I have a 1GHz and was thinking about getting a 1.33 or maybe wait till the next. Thanks!

Hi, my name is Adam and I have problems! Two months ago I had a 1GHz CPU that ran at 1150MHz. It was fine until I read about people running their CPUs at 1.2GHz. So, me having severe thoughts of being inadequate bought a 1.1GHz CPU that ran at 1.2GHz stable. When I heard about the AXIAs the same inadeqate feeling took over again. I bought a 1GHz version of the AXIAs and I am now running at 1333MHz. It never stops with me. I'm the type of person that pays $200 for an extra 100MHz to 150MHz.

Adam its time to spend more money look at my cpu BTW adam what kind of benchmarks are you getting on that DDR system of yours????

I not sure (and no is) as to when the next higher clock will be. But the new Athlons will be out Q3 according to the most recent roadmap. But do you need the speed? Most people don't need 800 Mhz. Not unless they have a graphics card from hell that is.

DANG, I wish I had as much money as Adam... I'm lucky if I buy a new CPU every 2 years =P

Anyway... a small question... but not important:
If I go to computer shows, can I handpick my own CPU? To make sure it's an AXIA ... certain week, core, etc.?

I like to have a fast CPU, but in a clock speed range where I know It's 100% at everything. Thats why it's at 1333MHz even though it goes to 1450MHz and the bus speed / memory speed at 133MHz even though it does 145MHz.

My memory performance is excellent for being at the default 133MHz bus. I have my memory scores for SiSoft. I need to find other memory benchmark programs to really test it.
