AMD's cpu program won't run after connecting the bridges.. did I connect em good?

Okay.. finally got that damn stock hsf off of my tbird.. so I cleaned it up nice, with some nail polish remover.. (scary).. connected those bridges with a pencil.. AS II and reseated the hsf.. (yeah the same one, i'm broke as a joke).. now I haven't done any oc'ing just yet.. but when i try to run that AMD cpu program.. you know.. the little one that just shows your cpu speed.. it doesn't do ANYTHING.. not even an error message.. just nothing.. maybe it's got something to do with the job I did on the bridges.. hmm?? if anyone can back me up on this, or point out some mistake I did.. or whatever.. if this has happened to you.. let me know.. I'm gonna try playing around with the "multiplexor" tomorrow.. it's too late/early right now for me to do that.. likely I'll destroy something.. already had a pretty busy day with the pooter.. goodnight.. any help would be nice.

heh.. yeah, I filled in the bridges.. still haven't messed with the 'multiplexor'.. but I will, late into the night I will.. I'm still curious why this damn cpu reading proggy from AMD won't run.. I'm suspecting that it's because I did a flakey job.. I hope not..

Did that program run before you connected the bridges?

People tend to think they're going to mess things up when they first start connecting the bridges, but after a while you'll see that you can't hurt anything and if you have any doubt about your connections, just erase them and re-do them.

You won't know if you have connected them solidly until you try changing the multiplier. Why not try a multiplier that under-clocks your CPU if you're worried about your temp with your current heatsink? The lower your CPU runs the cooler it will run (given the same voltage), so you're certainly not going to hurt it by under-clocking. I've run my Tbird 750 at 500, 600, 750, and anywhere from 900-1200. If you can change your multiplier successfully to several different settings then it's probably fine. If you can't then erase and redo them. Make sure they don't bleed into one another, but other than that there's really not much to it. I've done it on 6 or 7 Durons/TBirds with a mechanical pencil with #2 lead and never had any problems.

Maybe the program is buggy? What's your temp? What's your voltage?

Yes.. the program worked just before I unlocked em (if indeed I did unlock em).. the problem is that I'm at work/school now.. so I can't do anything from way over here.. wish I could though.. I keep fighting the supergeek urge to just up and bring my own damn computer to work with me..
