AMD761 NB & Via 686SB driver info needed

I am going to install Win ME on my GF's PC. From what I know about the AMD 760 chipset with a VIA southbridge, you install the AMD AGP driver first, then the 4-in-1's and uncheck the AGP driver during install. However, is that the ONLY thing you uncheck during the 4-in-1 install?

Do you need the via .inf and busmaster driver from the 4-in-1's in Win ME?

In Win 2K, I prefer Microsoft's ide busmaster.....

You got it: install the 4-in-1's without AGP and then install AMD's AGP driver.

Also get SP2 and every other Windows Update. SP2 fixes an ATA/100 problem in Win2K.

Thanks for the confirmation Modus. On my Win ME system that I just built for my GF, I did the AMD AGP driver first, rebooted, then ran the 4.31 4-in-1's with the AGP unchecked. However the only one that was left checked was the inf driver, the busmaster driver was not part of the package.

I did a search before asking this question, but some of the replies seemed "unshure".

Yeah, regarding ME, the 4-in-1's will detect the current version of the IDE Busmaster driver and won't bother installing over it if it's up to date already.
