AMD64 X2 4800 and A8V problem

This is a wierd problem and I hope someone has a solution. Anyhow I just got the A8V and AMD 4800 from Monarch, along with 2gig of Corsair ram. From a cold boot I get poor performance in 3DMark 01-03-05. If I restart the computer and run the the same benchmark performance is excellent. Ive retested this a number of times and its always the same. Much higher benchmarks after a restart, much lower benchmarks from a cold boot. This really has me stumped!! Im using the AMD X2 driver, both cores are being used and show up in task manager. I tried a number of bios settings, also tried another video card (BFG 6800GT OC) with no success. I also took out my Audigy 2 to see if that was it. Took out a stick of ram, no go.............
Asus A8V
AMD64 X2 4800
Corsair TwinXC2 DDR400 2 gig
currently:BFG 6800 GT OC/latest Nividia drivers
Audigy 2
Maxtor SATA 160Gb HD
OCZ Modstream 520 watt PSU😕

I'd also check to see if it's the power supply or hard drive.

But honestly, this could be anything.

Your power supply looks fine, but as someone who works with a lot of chips, a funny voltage when a chip starts can mess it up, even when the voltage stabilizes on it. The only way to recover it is to issue the chip a reset command.

Also, could be software, reinstall if you can't figure something else out 🙂
