Think he means you'd need a 4Ghz P4 to match it. Which is not true, you'd need a 4.2/4.4 Ghz to match it in gaming.

AMD will intro the 90 nm FX next month (2.8 Ghz) FX 57. You'll see the 3 Ghz FX in october, that gives them plenty of time to tweak the core, and try and bring the heat down, not that they need to.

They have a 4000+, which is supposed to be the equivalent of a 4000mhz T-bird, but really is a thinly veiled attempt to attach a "PR" rating (redundant, to be sure) to the athlon series. The 4000+ is really just a locked FX-53.

Yeah, it'd intresting to see a to see t-bird at 4 Ghz compared to the 4000+, lol my moneys on the t-bird. We all know they just saved 200 mhz in reserve and stuck to 2.4 Ghz and added 512k cache to make Intel look daft .

hmm...get some phase change, massively modify a good nf2 mobo (3.3v to the proc would be nessiary), and maybe we'll find out. What is the record for a tbird? 1.8, 1.9 or something like that...
