Now, I know that the good ol' Newcastle runs great deals hotter than the Venice, but...
Idling, I normally hang out around 50C. Full load goes up to about 55-56C. By comparison I know of a Venice 3500 hanging out around 30C.
Stock heatsink, no overclock, Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case that keeps everything else (BFGTech 6800OC included) really cool, even with the 90+F temperatures (this room stays maybe 70) we've had around here lately.
Really that much of a difference between the two cores, or should I probably get around to getting a better heatsink?
