IIRC from what the AMD rep I spoke to, she said they were cutting costs to be more profitable and since the "only" major launch this year is the Athlon64, it wasn't cost-effective 🙁
 
After the massive amount of cash they blew on us at the 3 day 64 launch event, they probably will never have another tour 🙂
