AMD Xp2000+ temp and MSI kt3 ultra-2 mobo

Hello,

I am just wondering what the average case and cpu temps are for systems with an Xp2000+ processor and what is the highest temp this processor can tolerate before reaching critical.

The CPU's core itself maxes at 90C, according to AMD. Naturally, if the core is actually getting beyond 70C then most people would be looking for a way to put the brakes on.

The tricky part is that when the core is at 70C, some motherboards read the CPU's diode and say 70C, while others use an external thermistor that might say anything from ?50C to 70C?. My advice is to compare your temps only to others with the same motherboard, or you're comparing apples and oranges.
