AMD XP vs. T-Bird

Is the 1.4 Ghz T-Bird (266 Mhz FSB) inferior to all the AMD Athlon XP processors (even the lowest end ones like an XP 1500+)?

IMO yes, the difference in power consumption and thus heat production alone make the XP 1500+ a better CPU, then add SSE and hardware prefetch and it's no contest as to which I chose when I had the 1.4 T-Bird.

id switch over just cuz then id be able to get a quieter fan to keep the cpu cool lol

The Athlon XP Performance Rating is based on the Thunderbird. So, a T-Bird @ 1400MHz < XP1500+ even though the 1500+ is clocked lower.
