What does L3, L4 or even L2 bridges do? I know L1 bridge has to do with unlocking multiplier.. does anyone have a link to this subject? I am just curious to know.
Thanks

Well, I tell you how to find out. Run some superglue in all the cut bridges and then close them like the L1's....

Then, If your proc blows up, we know it was voltage and/or the dreaded "self-destruct" bridge they've been hiding.... BWUAHAHHAH! :D

What is the point. The new XP's can maybe do 33mhz over default. You can get a p4 1.6 to do minimum 2.2ghz at half of what a 2.2athlon xp costs.

I know for sure that one set is for the default multiplier, and I think there's another for default voltage.

some of the 1600's can do 1800-1900 fairly easily. (PR rating)

My 1.533 (1800+) does 1.833 (2200+) at default voltage. All that and 166 FSB for (edit) $84 :Q shipped at Newegg.

Most of the latest stepping of XP's, AGOIA, are hitting the 1.8ghz-1.9ghz range..not PR rating. I picked up a 1600+ about two weeks back for ~$60, threw it in my Epox 8KHA+ with a stick of PC2700, and voilla...1.8ghz with only 1.8v (.05v over default). This XP running a 172mhz FSB hangs right up there with my 1.6A @ 2.56ghz. :)

No. that's the beauty of it. When you buy the lower speed XP's. like the 1600+, you can just crank it right to 166mhz FSB without unlocking. :)
