Looking for information on unlocking the new 2400+ process from AMD. In reading the only thing I have found so far was from Kyle Bennett at http://www.hardocp.com/ mentioning he "shorted the last set of L3 contact points" Has anyone done this yet on this CPU? I did order a AMD overclocking kit w/ fillter, conductive grease and cleaner. I am so psyched as this 2400+ (Overclocked) will be my upgrade from my current AMD K6 450!!!

Going w/ the EPoX 8K3A+ MoBo + 512 of Crucial PC2700 memory, and WD Special Edition 80 GB 8MB Cache HD ATA100...should be quite the upgrade. Oh cannot forget the Thermalright SLK-800 + Vantec Tornado 80mm 84.1CFM fan ;-)

Any pictures of the NEW process of the points exactly the need to be shorted out is greatly appreciated!

Short answer = depends on the mobo, if older will need the L3 mod you talk about, if newer like Abit KD7 will run right out of the box no mods and l1s are already closed.

Long answer to understand the various mods etc = go to
http://www.beachlink.com/candjac/index.htm read Tbred article with pics of mod, daigrams, also Palomino artickle and Multiplier Code and Circuits articles will get you tight up to speed on this issue related to older mobos. Don't ask us which ones need the mod/s...research around.
