I am sure Microsoft will sell the Xbox one as an Xbox one and not as pancakes 😉

I have no doubt these consoles will sell well, the initial purchasing price of £600 minus a penny is quite steep though, it will be interesting to see the comparison between the pre-purchasing of the 360 vs the One.
 
The biggest barrier to sales that I see is if the rumors of draconian drm, such as having to pay a fee to play used games are true, and how it affects the rental market as well. MS could be shooting itself in the foot with this one. If Sony is less restrictive, along with better hardware, they could make some big gains.

is this per year or over the lifespan? the last xbox has lasted 8 years. if its 3 bil divided by 8+ years, then that does not seem like a lot of money.
